We are seeking an experienced and visionary Non-Fiction Book Publisher to join our dynamic publishing team. The ideal candidate will have editorial passion and vision, a deep understanding of the publishing ecosystem, and a proven track record of successfully bringing impactful books to market. As a Non-Fiction Book Publisher, you will play a pivotal role in acquiring, developing, and promoting non-fiction titles that resonate with our target audience.
Key Responsibilities:
Acquisition and Editorial Oversight:
Identify potential non-fiction book projects that align with the company's publishing goals and market trends.
Negotiate and secure publishing rights with authors and agents.
Collaborate with authors to develop and refine book concepts, ensuring high-quality content and market appeal.
Project Management:
Manage the end-to-end publishing process
Coordinate with editorial, design, and production teams to ensure timely and high-quality book production.
Market Research and Positioning:
Develop effective positioning and marketing strategies for non-fiction titles to maximize visibility and sales.
Author Relations:
Cultivate strong and collaborative relationships with authors and agents.,
Effectively communicate publishing timelines, expectations, and marketing plans to authors.
Budget Management:
Develop and manage budgets for each publishing project, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial goals.
Sales and Distribution:
Work closely with sales and distribution teams to create effective sales strategies for non-fiction titles.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in English, Publishing, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
Proven experience as a Non-Fiction Book Publisher or in a senior editorial role within a publishing house.
In-depth knowledge of the non-fiction book market, including industry trends and competitive landscape.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Exceptional project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Creative thinking and a keen eye for identifying unique and marketable book concepts.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
