  Description

  The Vice President of Operations at Georgia Military College plays a pivotal role in the management and oversight of several critical departments serving the student population at GMC’s Main Campus. This position works to support the strategic mission and vision of the College by providing leadership to the Main Campus Dean of Students/Student Activities, JC Corps of Cadets, Military Science Department (MSD), JC Athletics, and Campus Police. The VP of Operations supervises and directs the administration of all operations and functions within these departments. The Vice President of Operations reports directly to the Senior Vice President of the Junior College and works collaboratively with other senior leaders to achieve the institution's mission and goals.

  The Vice President of Operations at Georgia Military College plays a vital role in maintaining the institution's unique blend of academic excellence and military tradition. They are responsible for ensuring the success and well-being of cadets, students, and athletes while upholding the college's mission and values.

  Departmental Oversight: Dean of Students/Student Activities, JC Corps of Cadets, Military Science Department (MSD), JC Athletics, and Campus Police

  Provide strategic leadership and vision to the

  Prepare budget proposals, justifications, and financial forecasts

  Continually analyzes, refines, and mages processes, policies, technologies, and resources

  Collaborate with the GMC Leadership Team to ensure coordination across divisions to ensure consistency and quality service to students.

  Staff Management and Development:

  Recruit, hire, train, and supervise departmental staff, providing ongoing performance feedback and coaching.

  Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork, professional growth, and employee morale.

  Conduct regular performance evaluations, identify training needs and coordinate professional development opportunities.

  Collaborative Partnerships:

  Collaborate with the departmental leaders and relevant stakeholders to ensure standard processes are trained, implemented, evaluated, and refined.

  Foster positive relationships with campus community members, including students, faculty, and staff, to understand their needs and address concerns.

  Collaborate with other campus departments to support events, projects, and initiatives requiring Ops support.

  Provides resolution to concerns expressed gathering additional information, determining possible outcomes, or referring the issue to the appropriate person, verifying that the issue has been addressed satisfactorily, and keeping the Senior Vice President, Junior College informed.

  Support risk reduction measures for cadets, students, and athletes. Collaborate with faculty and staff to meet student needs and to support student learning and growth.

  Financial Management:

  Develop and manage the annual budget for JC Operations (Dean of Students/Student Activities, JC Corps of Cadets, Military Science Department (MSD), JC Athletics, and Campus Police), ensuring fiscal responsibility and accountability.

  Monitor expenditures, review financial reports, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.

  *Criminal background check and drug screen must be cleared before any candidate may begin working.

  Qualifications

  Minimum required:

  Master’s degree or commensurate military leadership (higher education admissions or recruiting) experience.

  3+ years of business management, team leadership

  Higher education or military recruitment experience

  Demonstrated experience streamlining operations

  Excellent oral and written communication skills, leadership in a fast-paced organization, budget planning and analysis skills, organizational management skills, technological proficiency

  Preferred:

  Doctorate
