Position Summary
The Theater and Dance Department at Bowdoin College invites applications for a full-time, benefits-eligible visiting assistant professor position in Theater, specializing in theory, history, and practice. The appointment begins July 1, 2024, and is a one-year position with the possibility of a second year upon successful review and reappointment. We seek candidates who can blend theory with a demonstrated expertise in a Theater practice such as acting, devising, directing, improvisation, or movement. The teaching load is two courses per semester which may include courses within one’s specialty and one of which may be directing a department production. A Ph.D. or MFA is expected by the date of appointment.
