Position Summary
The Digital and Computational Studies ( DCS ) Program at Bowdoin College invites applications for a full-time, benefits-eligible visiting assistant professor position. The appointment begins July 1, 2024 and is for two years with a possible extension for a third year, pending review and reappointment. A Ph.D. is expected by the date of appointment. We are especially interested in applicants whose research or artistic practices focus on the critique or creation of digital or computational technologies from an interdisciplinary perspective. Teaching responsibilities include two courses per semester. Topics for these courses include, but are not limited to, introductory computational methods, statistical methods, text analysis, network analysis, spatial analysis, societal impact of AI, digital media, art and technology, social media, and an advanced course in the candidate’s area of specialization.
