　　Overview

　　Under the supervision of an RN, the Virtual Patient Safety Observer is responsible for observation through virtual monitoring of the patient to promote and protect the patient’s safety. The Virtual Patient Safety Observer identifies safety concerns, documents safety-related observations and communicates information regarding the patient’s safety to the nursing staff. The Virtual Patient Safety Observer intervenes when there is a potential or actual threat to patient’s safety.
