The Village of McGuffey is seeking applicants for a Village Administrator position.Hours/Compensation: The work week, including the number of hours to be worked and 24-hour availability in emergencies, and the rate of pay, shall be established by ordinance or motion by the village council.Qualifications and Responsibilities:
• Class 1 water treatment license from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency Must have or being willing to obtain• Class 1 wastewater treatment license from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency Must have or being willing to obtain• Agreement to obtain, with a reasonable time, any other licenses or certifications required by the village• Attendance at village council and committee meetings as requested• Ability to work closely with the mayor, fiscal officer and village council on short and long-term planning, including the development of the annual budget (this requires a working knowledge of the appropriations process)• Experience supervising and directing employees, including the creation of work schedules; familiar with the use of the employee handbook, employee evaluations, and progressive discipline• Working knowledge of village infrastructure and equipment; safe, efficient and effective operation, oversight and coordination of services provided by the Village, including utilities, street maintenance, mowing, snow removal, maintenance of village buildings and facilities• Enter into contracts, purchase supplies and materials, and provide labor for any work under his/her supervision as approved in the annual appropriations ordinance and amendments thereto; additionally, the village administrator shall have the authority to approve expenditures up to $1,000.00 and, with the Mayor's approval, $10,000.00, when necessary in conjunction with the repair or replacement of failed or damaged equipment, machinery, structures, or system components needed for the adequate operation of the water and sanitary sewage systems.• Ability to work with the public in a professional manner while adhering to village ordinances and policies• Ability to effectively coordinate with other public agencies and entities, including the Ohio EPA, OSHA, Hardin County Regional Planning Commission, Hardin County Commissioners, townships and villages, fire and EMS first responders• Proficient verbal and written communication skills; grant writing experience desirableInterested applicants should contact Brandon Goodin at [email protected]
