Purpose and ScopeThe Vice President Polymer Development will be responsible for the developmentand design of new polymer suitable for formulation development and workingwith outside companies and/or universities to develop relationships for theadvancement of Tolmar polymer-enabled formulation strategies. Will assist inthe design of polymer scale-up and manufacturing at Tolmar. Will be a memberof the product development leadership team.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesDevelop and design new polymer formulations.Work 'hands-on' with Polymer formulation development personnel to refinepolymer formulations.Conduct process research and develop and/or improve procedures on polymerManufacturing activities.Synthesize lab scale and commercial scale lots of novel biodegradablepolymers.Prepare validation protocols and reports, write transfer packages,standard operating procedures and regulatory responses.Work with suppliers and contract manufacturers.Work closely with formulation development, process development andanalytical teams to support overall product development objectives.Align with Nonclinical and Regulatory toxicology and registration strategies.Responsible for GMP compliance in the polymer manufacturing area.Responsible for technical sections of appropriate regulatory filings.Participate in required annual hazardous waste training. Hazardous wasteinvolvement may include, but is not limited to container and tank managementand inspections, generation of hazardous waste as a part of production orsampling processes and transfer of hazardous waste between lab procedurearea, satellite accumulation and storage.
