Veterinary Receptionist, Tech Assistant

Fixed Term, Maternity Leave Coverage

Bay Cities Animal Hospital is looking for a new associate for our amazing hospital support team! We have a full-time, Maternity Leave Coverage contract opportunity for an experienced Veterinary receptionist/Technician Assistant .

In this role, you will help our clients and their pets feel welcomed and appreciated!

Responsibilities will vary depending on experience, and we will provide training and development with all roles for additional client care reception desk support. Candidates with advanced experience in animal handling and care will also have opportunities to contribute in different areas throughout the hospital.

Excellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting pets and pet parents at ease and creating a welcoming environment 

Ability to answer a multiline phone system and track and book appointments effectively 

Take initiative and work independently 

Scheduling appointments; Admitting and discharging pet patients

Invoicing/billing; creating estimates and processing payments

General housekeeping duties; cleanliness of reception area, pet holding areas, and common areas

Ability to use a computer-based booking and records system (we will provide training on our specific system)

Willingness to learn more regarding; veterinary services, updated medical office procedures, and assist the Veterinary technical team with various tasks and treatments

A Veterinary Assistant (VA) or Veterinary Assistant Office Administration (VAOA) program certificate is an asset

Schedules: Full-time, approximately 30 hours/week. This position is a contract position to cover maternity leave
