The Veterinary Medical Field Officer Position is a challenging and exciting position that comes with a base salary that is negotiable up to $112,666. The position is also eligible for a performance incentive of up to $5,000 yearly once in regular status and if the selected candidate is board certified there is an additional quarterly payment as part of the compensation package.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will administer Bureau of Animal Health and Diagnostic Services programs and legislatively mandated laws and regulations in the Region 5 area to provide animal disease surveillance and control. Supervising a team of Domestic Animal Health Inspectors, you will review investigation reports, provide consultation regarding assignments, regulations, and policies, and provide veterinary services relative to control of contagious or infectious diseases of domestic animals.

*Work Schedule and Additional Information:*
Full-time employment.Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.This position is home headquartered in region 5 which consists of the following counties: Clearfield, Centre, Mifflin, Juniata, Cambria, Blair, Huntingdon, Somerset, Bedford, and Fulton. This position is designated as Shortage Region PA242 for the USDA Veterinary Medical Loan Repayment Program. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS*Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:*
One year of farm animal and/or poultry practice experience as a USDA accredited veterinarian.
*Special Requirement:*
Possession of a license to practice veterinary medicine as issued by a state board of veterinary medical examiners.
*Other Requirements:*
PA residency requirement is currently *waived for this title.*You must be able to perform essential job functions.
