　　The Military Affairs and Veterans Department is actively seeking a Veteran Placement Specialist/SPE.

　　The primary purpose of this position is to interview and assess employment needs of homeless Veterans.

　　Examples of Work

　　Follow up with clients and employers to verify proper support services are provided to enable clients to maintain employment.

　　Networks with potential employers, homeless shelters, job training services and transitional housing resources.

　　Follows up with Veterans to ensure compliance with grant program guidelines and the individualized employment plan established for them.

　　Provides continuing case management services to Veterans.

　　Compiles data.

　　A three (3) year combination of education and experience in providing social services assistance, preferably to Veterans.LICENSE/CERTFICATION/REGISTRATION:

　　A valid Class E Driver's license is required prior to appointment and must be maintained during employment in this class.

　　Must meet standards to obtain a City of Jacksonville Public Driver Certification.
