Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently looking for a Technician in the Vehicle Emission and Efficiency Lab (VEL) at our Superior Township, Michigan facility who will:Perform vehicle emission testing on a chassis dyno to comply with SAE/EPA/CARB specification/regulations, and industry best practices.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform chassis dyno emission testing's (driving)Prepares, installs, and sets up test vehicle, analyzers, dyno, data Aquisition and other equipment.Perform SHED testing (HSL, DBL, and ORVR)Perform testing and records results, communicates results to an Engineer, or to a Supervisor/Manager as required.Prepare vehicles for testing (fuel drain and fill, canister loading/condition. instrumentation, etc.)Support/perform daily equipment calibration and maintenance.Complete test documentation paperwork.Act as a resource for collagues with less experience, guides junior team members.May act as a lead, coordinating and facilitating the work of others but is not a supervisor.Proposes improvements to processes and equipment upgrades.Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.Perform light mechanical work.Perform general maintenance and housekeeping of chassis test cells and work area.Perform additional projects as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Mathematical skills: basic skills (required)Reasoning Skills/Abilities: Advanced level required, use logical and practical approach to solve problems.
