Description:
The position of Virtual Design Construction (VDC) Specialist I is to create 3D Models of electrical components for construction projects within the specified schedule with significant supervision. The specialist will communicate and work closely with the VDC team, especially the VDC Manager, as well as Project Managers, and Field Supervisors as needed to coordinate the layout of electrical components as required for the projects. Coordination will be required with other Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) Trade Partners and General Contractors, with oversight. Work also requires occasional 2D drafting, detailing, Total Station point drawings and other miscellaneous document work.
3D BIM Modeling: 50%
Model 3D elements for electrical work on construction projects within specified schedule with supervision
Learn and become proficient in Revit, and AutoDesk Suite
With direction, support the coordination of drawings with needs of a project working with VDC Team Members and Field Supervisor as needed
Finish drawings per established project schedule
With supervision, provide final install drawings to project management for field personnel
Through supervisor, provide final as-built models to project management for general contractor for delivery to owner with supervision
Clash Detection and Resolution: 15%
With supervision, assist to resolve clashes with other trade and building models
Gain knowledge of and proficiency in BIM 360, and Navisworks
Project Coordination Meetings: 10%
With supervision, attend project coordination meetings with General Contractor, MEP Trade Contractors, Architect and Engineers as scheduled/required to keep current of project developments, milestones and timelines
With supervision, attend project coordination meetings described above to work through and resolves clashes and model conflicts
2D CAD Drafting: 15%
Create 2D drawings of electrical work as required for details, prefabrication, one-lines, 2D layouts and as-built drawings as required for projects as needed, with supervision
Total Station point drawings 15%
Project Documentation:
Keep detailed and current records of all project work including but not limited to drawings, correspondence and schedules

This position requires a detail-oriented employee with a passion for creating 3D models. Must have a desire to work in a team-based environment and contribute immediately.
Associates degree in Architectural Technology or related construction degree (or construction experience) is preferred
0-2 years’ experience in VDC
Electrical contracting/construction experience preferred.
Exposure to or experience working in the following programs is preferred: Revit, AutoCAD, AutoDesk Suite, BIM 360, and BlueBeam
Proficiency within the Microsoft Suite (Office 365 and One Drive included) is required
*Electrical knowledge - even if in the field doing electrical installation is preferred
