Essential Job Duties:
The primary purpose of this position includes but is not limited to:
Distributions and redistributions – The primary purpose of this position is to assist with the day-to-day management of contracts and grants accounts in the College of Sciences. Duties include but are not limited to, reconciling university P-card charges monthly, facilitating vendor registrations and payments, interpreting allowable expenses, monitoring and approving account transactions and balances, and assisting travelers with reimbursements. Additional requirements may include: providing routine monthly status reports, and when necessary, providing immediate reports to upper management if problems are identified; determining compliance with pertinent guidelines, rules, regulations, and laws; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with representatives of related on-campus units, departmental staff, and the general public; and communicating effectively in both oral and written form.

PPE to be provided and worn: NWI Pilot Labs ( TEX , CTI & Partners) – protective eyewear, safety shoes Eye protection must conform to the American National Standards Institute ( ANSI ), Standard Z87.1-1989. Prescription safety glasses are required for employees who must routinely wear safety glasses in lieu of fitting safety glasses over their personal glasses. All safety glasses shall have side protection. Steel-toed Boots (University provides up to $100 towards the cost)
Required Qualifications:
A successful candidate will:
Must have knowledge of accounting principles and cost account standards
Must have the ability to interpret guidelines, regulations, and instructions of the University, the State of NC, federal/award procedures/guidelines, etc. as they apply to the financial management of funds/awards
Must be experienced in the use of computer-based financial systems
Must have excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Experience with post-award grants management.
Experience in NC State Universities People-Soft Systems.
Working knowledge of financial accounting systems, Excel, and databases.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing to understand the problem and explore solutions to resolve the problem while adhering to Federal, State, and University rules and regulations
