IMMEDIATE NEED FOR A UTILITY INSPECTOR
A growing, mid-sized construction and engineering firm is seeking a utility inspector who will report to the Lead Construction Manager. Daily work activities will include coordination between Inspector Resident Project Representatives (RPRs), Project Engineers, and Project Managers. This person will assist in training and overseeing inspection staff to ensure project time, cost management, documentation, communication, risk management, and quality assurance. Qualifications:
*2+ years of professional experience with the involvement of underground utilities or site excavation
*Ability to read construction plans and blueprints
*Experience utilizing Microsoft Excel
*Willingness to do overnight travel (all expenses will be paid for, as well has having per-diem)
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide guidance and oversight to construction inspectors and assist with job site inspection as-needed.
Fill in for inspectors (RPRs) on the job site that are on vacation or out sick
Assist with facilitating and conducting regularly scheduled construction meetings.
Coordinate with contractors to schedule inspection activities and help resolve design and field issues.
Assist with project management for technical and cost efforts to meet deadlines and budgets.
Oversee validation of products and materials ordered for projects to verify their conformance to specifications.
Ensure federal, state and local regulations for construction procedures and safe working conditions.
TRAVEL
Candidates must be willing to travel to job sites across the State of Indiana. This includes some overnight travel at times.
Person will use own vehicle and mileage will be reimbursed by the firm at federal reimbursement rate.
Need to have reliable transportation
