ID215963Job TypeFull-timeTesla participates in the E-Verify ProgramWhat to ExpectThe Supercharger Utility Capacity Manager role entails active program coordination of deployment phases of Tesla's Supercharger projects requiring utility capacity upgrades. The ideal candidate has relevant experience working on distribution, transmission, and substation level projects, including design and project timeline reduction. S/he demonstrates a bias to action, logical problem solving, and mastery of project management. Finally, s/he brings high energy and an optimistic approach to fully completing projects in a swift and quality manner.What You'll DoActively manage the utility relationship for distribution, transmission, and substation upgrades needed to build Supercharger projects.Oversee all phases of design, entitlement, and construction of Supercharger sites where capacity upgrades are needed.Facilitate field site visits for due diligence on construction, engineering, utility, and cost. Provide site reports and sketches as needed.Review title reports for ownership, encumbrances, and easements to assess utility construction viability.Serve as the liaison with utility company personnel to determine the best routing of primary electrical service and coordinate site power installations during design and construction phases.Champion project review meetings with major utilities. Track and manage utility timelines, advocating for improvements.Plan and coordinate EV charging/Tesla program review meetings with executives from major utilities.Meet with zoning/permitting personnel to understand jurisdictional approval requirements for utility improvements and opportunities for timeline reduction.Represent Tesla and the Supercharger program at public meetings. Track and manage status of all needed approvals.What You'll BringMinimum 3 years' experience working on transmission and/or substation level projects.
