  Position Summary...

  What you'll do...

  As a Technical Program Manager in Walmart's Technology Strategy and Commercialization department this role will be an enabler of our vision to be a fully optimized Technical Portfolio Organization and support our mission to drive modernizing legacy applications, modernization of tech stack, and elimination of technical debt which is leading our company towards our next retail disruption. In today's environment, the TPM will work with all organizations/pillars to remove technical debt from our store and club ecosystem. This includes all levels of escalations and reporting up through CTO of Walmart Global Tech.

  This position is Bentonville-based where you will have opportunities to interact with various stakeholder groups and leaders, from all organizations within Global Tech and other business groups from across Walmart.

Next Gen Tech Stack (NGTS) promotes and serves as key accelerators in Walmart's global digital transformation by partnerships with engineering, product, and business teams to further strengthen our competitive advantage through modernizing the technology ecosystem in key areas while reducing total cost of ownership, eliminating enterprise risk and technical debt.

  What you'll do:

  Support, guide, and develop the best-in-class Technical Project and Program Managers focused on innovative ways of working while delivering on complex NGTS initiatives.

  You will lead by influencing the technical programs across multiple organizations and pillars using strong leadership skills, great verbal and written communication skills.

  You will use your advanced knowledge of Core Project Management and Agile principles including the Hybrid and SCRUM methodology and ability to apply them to lead and provide guidance to a team of Technical Project Managers (TPM) supporting the initiative.

  You will create / maintain program level delivery roadmap for products and/or capabilities within a complex NGTS initiative.

  You will have indirect influence across multiple organizations/pillars and build strong partnerships across these horizontals/verticals.

  You will demonstrate the ability to lead others in delivery setting expectations.

  You will manage multiple technical project oversight of varying complexities.

  You will demonstrate the ability to partner with Infrastructure teams to coordinate roadmaps and decommission planning.

  You will be responsible for financial planning at the LRP, AOP level for complex NGTS initiatives.

  What you'll bring:

  Strong at establishing partnerships across horizontals/verticals.

  Strong at establishing strategies and driving delivery of multiple low to high complexity projects.

  Strong understanding of portfolio operations and project methodologies (Traditional, hybrid, Agile (Scrum/Kanban)).

  Solid leadership skills (influence, coaching, gaining respect, indirect authority, hold others accountable to plans, strategic communicator).

  People Development: Demonstrates strong leadership qualities and applies managing up principles.

  Ability to operate at the executive level (strong communicator, negotiator).

  Ability to deal with ambiguities, risks, and unknowns, and you understand what it takes to build the right stakeholder engagement.

  Exhibit a problem-solving mindset focused on holistic systems solutions.

  Microsoft, Expert Excel skills including formula writing and executive level PowerPoint PPTs.

  Professional certification such as PMP, CSM, etc.

  Professional experience in a tech firm / first education degree in tech field

  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related area and 6 years' experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.

  • Option 2: 8 years' experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.
