Join our Trane Commercial business unit as a Unitary Lifecycle Engineering Leader ! This Engineering Leader is primarily that of an individual contributor but may be responsible for a small team of direct reports that are dedicated to lifecycle work. The position will work closely with Product Growth teams and functional teams including Quality, Procurement and Commodity Teams in supporting product share and margin growth objectives.
This position is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule (3 or more days onsite a week) and will be based out of our Clarksville, TN location.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain analytics around product cost. Support PGT decision making and productivity ideation with the analytics.
Manage Engineering product VAVE project pipeline from ideation through execution.
Support Product Growth teams by managing the vetting of ideas and prioritization of lifecycle projects within the PGT. This includes sustaining, supply continuity, quality, top line margin expansion, and productivity projects.
Manage Project Authorization’s for lifecycle efforts with our global Engineering Technology Centers.
Drive standard work that supports modular product architecture and re-use across Unitary HVAC product platforms.
Drive standard work that improves project speed and product quality.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and at least 5 years of engineering, productivity or relevant experience is required.
Data analytics experience is a plus.
Project Management experience is a plus.
Key Competencies:
Strong in engineering fundamentals.
Exposed to DFSS tools with expertise in DFMEA, DFM & Reliability tools.
Strong project management skills and conversant with MS Project.
Demonstrated ability to lead through influence.
Strong communication skills, both verbally and written.
Experience working with global Engineering teams.
Successful experience motivating and working with culturally diverse remote teams
Motivated and committed to excellence.
Design & development or application experience in HVAC products is a plus.
Experience with refrigeration design and sheet metal design fundamentals is a plus.
Experience with data analytics is a plus.
Annual Base Pay Range: $105,000 – 183,750
Additional Compensation: Total compensation for this role also will include an incentive plan.
