Job Overview
Performs high quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures on patients to includegeneral, gynecological, vascular and pediatric specific exams. Providesconscientious patient care while adhering to all quality and safety standards.Performs administrative duties including but not limited to schedulingappointments, patient instructions, and maintenance of records. Thisposition is responsible for communicating regularly with patients,families, and all hospital and community caregivers while followingdepartment expectations for interactions with patients and families. Thisposition is required to work at all Children's Colorado locations and be oncall as needed.

Qualifications
EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonographyprogram required.CERTIFICATION(S):American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography: Registered DiagnosticMedical Sonographer (RDMS) with Abdomen (AB) specialty required;Registered Vascular Technologist (VT) required within one year of hire;Pediatric Sonography specialty required within 2 years of hireAmerican Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for HealthcareProvider required.

These examples do not include all of thefunctions which the employee may be epected to perform.Performs high quality ultrasound images while accurately demonstrating anatomyand pathology using scanning protocols.Facilitates patient flow daily; to include management of STAT/urgent andhigh priority patients.Provides age-appropriate care and appropriately prepares patients forprocedures.Provides clear and detailed information regarding the procedure and care topatients, families, coworkers, and others.Operates all Ultrasound equipment; to include ancillary equipment followingsafety procedures and protocols.Demonstrates and maintains competency and ability to use all aspects ofRadiology Information System (RIS), Electronic Medical Records(EMR), Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) as itpertains to modality specific functions and use.In the event of an emergency will act as first responder and provide BasicLife Support (BLS) until help arrives.Verifies patient allergies and clinical indications prior to contrastadministration.
