The Travel Auditor is responsible for auditing travel submissions submitted through the Travel Module or in paper format by Agency staff, Board Members, and authorized committees for accuracy and compliance with State and Agency travel policies and rules. This position may also involve making reservations for Agency staff and Boards. This position also assists with the vendor maintenance function. This individual will assist with setting up and maintaining vendor data and direct deposit information for the vendors of the Texas Education Agency which is performed in both the TCAPPS (TEAS modified version of the CAPPS accounting system) and the states TINS (Texas Identification Numbers System). This position will also assist with processing inter-departmental expense reallocations. This individual is one of four Travel Auditors for the Agency. This position reports to the Payroll/Travel Manager and works under general supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement, and performs other duties as assigned.Flexible work location within the state of Texas may be considered for qualified candidates.Please note that a resume is a required attachment for applying to this position. Audits Travel Reimbursement Expense Reports - Audits travel reimbursement expense reports or vouchers for accuracy and completeness and ensures supporting documentation is present.2. Processes Vendor Maintenance/Set Up - Assists with setting up and maintaining agency vendor files in both TCAPPS and TINS.3. Process Inter-departmental Expense Reallocations - Reconciles and processes inter-departmental expense reallocations including copy center, FedEx, and postage.Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field. Experience: At least two (2) years of experience in accounting, auditing or other financial field. Substitutions: Each additional year of related experience above the required minimum may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Share the belief that all Texas students can achieve at high levels and are able to succeed in college, career, or the military.
