You will support our highway, bridge projects throughout California. Work at this level requires the ability to work in a team, collaborative, and fast paced environment. This internship provides a hands-on learning experience directly related to responsibilities that transfer to skills needed in a future full-time position.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Work in a team environment with other project engineers on the detailed roadway design, hydrologic, hydraulic, and drainage analysis and design of urban and rural transportation related projects.
Perform routine aspects of engineering requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles under close supervision.
Provide support in the preparation of contract drainage drawings, specifications, and estimates.
Performs other duties assigned by the design leads and other team members.
Here’s what you’ll need :
Must have at least a 3.5 GPA
Must be a junior or a senior level student pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program, preferably with a focus or interest in highway design, hydrology, hydraulics, drainage design, and/or transportation engineering.
MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Working knowledge of Word and Excel
Coursework in transportation and roadway geometrics, hydrology and hydraulics, and CAD software is highly preferred.
The base salary range for this position is $25.60 to $28.60 This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
