Alaska Waste , a Waste Connections company, is looking for a Transfer Station Attendant to join the team in Seward, AK!

　　Schedule will be Wednesday to Saturday, 7:45am- 5:45pm in the winter. And Thursday to Sunday, same hours in the summer. Pay will start at $21.00 per hour with regular wage increases.

　　Transfer Station Attendants will oversee traffic, clean up the site, and operate various equipment on site. Maintaining a safe work environment. Working well with the public is needed. Comes with exciting promotional opportunities.

　　Job Duties include:

　　Opening and closing the transfer site, and always monitoring the site during operating hours.

　　Greeting, directing, discussing issues with, and educating customers of onsite rules and restrictions in a polite and courteous manner.

　　Directing and tracking incoming traffic and monitoring waste material flow.

　　Monitoring and screening waste loads for prohibited or hazardous materials.

　　Immediate containment, cleanup, and necessary reporting of any hazardous or prohibited materials spilled at the facility.

　　Building, cleaning, and preparing roll carts for delivery to customers.

　　Maintaining the Transfer Station yard and keeping it neat and free from debris.

　　Assisting in the cleaning of company trucks and other company vehicles.

　　Removal of snow and ice from walkways, driveways, etc.

　　Operating heavy equipment such as front-end loaders, forklifts, and other medium to heavy equipment in accordance with all OSHA, state, and federal requirements.

　　Regularly inspecting equipment, and performing minor repairs and maintenance as required.

　　Safety of vehicle, equipment, and load.

　　Operating compactor to include pre and post shift inspections, loading of debris and cleaning.

　　Ensuring all customer interactions by Operator are polite and courteous; may be required to greet, direct, discuss issues, and educate customers of onsite rules and restrictions.

　　Following all appropriate safety guidelines and precautions, wearing required safety gear, and always maintaining a neat and professional appearance.

　　Performing other duties as assigned.

　　Maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
