Citigroup Global Markets Inc. seeks a Trader for its New York, New York location.
Duties: Engage in market making activities by providing and advising on bid and offer prices on agency mortgage-backed security collateralized mortgage obligation securities. Independently commit the bank's capital via buying and selling. Make decisions on hedging transactions in order to risk-manage the portfolio. Utilize programming languages such as VBA, Python, R-statistical package, SQL, C++, and Matlab to analyze prepayment trends and to formulate advanced mathematical models and process large data sets for predicting prepayments and cashflows for mortgage backed securities. Leverage advanced analytical techniques including stochastic processes, numerical methods, non-linear optimization, Monte Carlo simulation, and Bayesian Analysis to determine appropriate analytical approaches for building models and analysis for trading desk. Utilize knowledge of prepayments and stochastic based relative valuation tools to identify security mispricings and execute risk management techniques. Utilize knowledge of cashflow modeling techniques, prepayment modeling, and, pricing of mortgage-backed securities to structure new issue agency collateralized mortgage obligations to meet demand that cannot be satisfied with bonds in secondary bond market. Build client relationships and visit clients for meetings. Advise clients on relative value trade opportunities and hedging strategies, and provide perspective on current housing and mortgage conditions. A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Citi policies and protocols.
Requirements: Requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mathematics, Finance, Financial Engineering, or closely related quantitative field and 2 years of experience as Quantitative Analyst, or related position involving conducting quantitative financial analyses for a global financial services institution. Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in the stated fields and 5 years of the specified progressively responsible, post-baccalaureate experience. Full term of experience must include: Utilizing Excel and Excel VBA to formulate advanced models for predicting prepayments and mortgage cash flows; Utilizing stochastic processes, numerical methods, partial differential equations, and Monte Carlo Simulations to build cashflow models and assess securities valuations; to build cashflow models and assess securities valuations; Conducting large-set data analysis using Python, C++, and R; Leveraging Yield Book to analyze portfolios and securities; Prepayment analysis and modeling to analyze bonds and structure collateralized mortgage obligations; and Bloomberg software.
