The Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital (WRCH) operated by the Department of Mental Health (DMH) is seeking a Tractor Driver with Class 2B Hoisting and Class B CDL with Air Brake Endorsement licenses. The selected candidate will operate tractors, trucks, plows, lawn mowers, snow blowers and similar equipment to maintain the grounds and buildings of a large institution. In addition, sands roadways, sidewalks and parking areas. Please note:These are full-time,40-hour positions. They are 1st shift, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The days off are Saturday and Sunday. Duties and Responsibilities (these are a general summary and not all-inclusive): * Operates tractors, trucks and or power equipment in the maintenance and beautification of grounds and buildings. * Performs motor truck operations for the collection and disposal of refuse and for hauling construction material; delivers them as directed. * Operates snowplows, road sander in conjunction with motor trucks. * Assist with moving materials or furniture within the buildings. * Services trucks, tractors and equipment with oil and gas; cleans interior and exterior. * Assists with road construction repair work or other assigned manual tasks. * Performs grounds keeping tasks; mowing, weeding, planting, pruning of trees, shrubs or flowers. Fertilize lawns and plants. * Rakes leaves, cleans roadways and parking lots, cleans walks, gutters, drains and catch basins. * Shovels, snow and/or use snow blower or equipment to sand small areas. * * Required Qualifications:_ _ * Working knowledge of the operation and uses of tractors and similar mobile equipment. * Knowledge of state regulations and safety precautions governing the operation of tractors and similar mobile equipment. * Familiarity of the methods, materials, tools and equipment used in connection with the care and maintenance of machinery, equipment and building. * Able to operate mobile equipment safety and skillfully. * Skillfully detect defects in and make repairs to mobile equipment. Preferred Qualifications: * Ability to work in adverse weather conditions for long periods. * Given the population served bilingual and/or multilingual fluency. Given the population served, bilingual or multilingual fluency is preferred. ASL preferred.
