As a Marketing and Tourism Coordinator for the City, you will be responsible with implementing marketing strategies, managing projects and events, and elevating brand visibility. The Coordinator will actively promote the City through the creation, administration, and distribution of compelling images and stories via both print and digital channels. This position is a hybrid remote with a minimum of three days in the office.*Please include at least three samples of your graphic design work, photography, video, or a portfolio link submitted as "other documents."
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Coordinate City and Tourism marketing and advertising initiatives, to include working with department divisions and external stakeholders to assist in collecting and providing information to produce digital and print collateral.
Support the execution of marketing campaigns and initiatives, including coordinating diverse campaigns and maintaining consistent and effective brand standards. Support public relations efforts and promote attractions, events, facilities, and activities related to Tourism while ensuring compliance with brand standards.
Act as the main administrator for the Economic Development and Tourism website, responsible for managing and refreshing the content and applications on the site.
Manage Tourism division related to various social media platforms and efforts through management of accounts and working with all division staff for optimal messaging content and imagery.
Collaborate with the team to generate content for various media channels, including social media, e-newsletters, brochures, flyers, blog posts, video content, and website materials for tourism program and initiatives.
Act as a liaison with City/Tourism-related businesses and organizations.
Act as a primary contact for Tourism to communicate updates, gather feedback, coordinate (as directed), track, monitor and follow-up on marketing initiatives to ensure the successful execution and timely delivery of communications and advertisements, as well as with contracted print and advertising vendors.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
Formal Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Public Affairs, or a related field. Relatable Work Experience: Three (3) years of progressively responsible work experience in marketing and tourism promotion, with at least one (1) year of experience specifically in writing and updating web content. Disclaimer: Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is define as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.
