Selects allowances and devises mechanism detail. Performs difficult tool room machine operations. This includes CAD/KEY, CNC lathe, and other technologies (as these technologies exist or arise) required to perform toolroom operations. Works from complicated drawings and sketches. Use advanced shop mathematics and all types of precision measuring instruments. Requirements of the tool and die maker: Toolmaker: die toolmaker forming dies; semi-permanent dies; and completing layout work. 4 years (Preferred) Familiar with short-run stamping tooling through progressive dies A high degree of experience and trade skills and thorough knowledge of machine shop practice.
