SURVEY CREW CHIEFWestwood Professional Services, Inc.Westwood Professional Services, Inc.is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to joinour team. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individualsdedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. Thisposition will lead a survey team in the field collecting data to supportdesign activities, boundary surveying, providing sketches, and layout tosupport construction activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide technical expertise to internal and external clientsPerform field work for land surveying scopes of work including constructionstaking, boundary location, ALTA, and topography for various project typesOrganize field staking materials as necessaryOperate GPS, total stations, scanners, and data collectorsTransfer files between data collectors and internal company project foldersProvide communication to the office teams regarding project status, dailyprogress and issuesMaintain productive working relationships with clients and coworkersAdhere to the company's Safety, Quality Management and EquipmentMaintenance policiesEnsures division, regional, and company policies and practices areconsistently followed within the survey service.Lead by example - display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty,openness, and professionalism.
Required Skills
Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignmentsAbility to carry survey equipment and supplies in remote, rural or urbansurroundingsAbility to lift 50 pounds and walk long distancesAbility to work in outdoor conditions subject to weather, insects, andchanging environments
Required Experience
Ability to effectively lead a survey crew and train/mentor survey crew membersMust be able to operate a total station and GPS in both static and RTK modessurveying activities pertaining to control networks, boundaries,ALTA's, topography, and construction staking.Must be able to operate a motor vehicle with a valid license and clean drivinghistoryOSHA 10 and CPR/First Aid or ability and willingness to acquire itMust be able perform tasks and solve problems with a high degree ofindependenceBasic "office suite" computer skills
Preferred Experience
An Associate's Degree in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or relatedarea of studyLand Development, both Commercial and Residential, and PublicInfrastructure ProjectsCoordinating activities with office personnel, including surveyingtechnicians and engineering staffFAA Part 107 UAS LicenseAbility to travel and remain on a project site for extended periods
