Tissue Donation Coordinator

　　DonorConnect is seeking a full-time Tissue Donation Coordinator. 　　This position will be scheduled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening shifts (1900-0700 MST). Training for the position will take place during business hours M-F.

　　DonorConnect is a federally designated nonprofit community service organization dedicated to the recovery of organs and tissues to be used for life-saving transplants. Our employees help save and heal lives!

　　As a Tissue Donation Coordinator (TDC), you will have the opportunity to work directly with donor families. You will facilitate the Donation Conversation and provide donor families with all relevant donation options and necessary information. You will ensure that families are able to make an informed donation decision by effectively communicating either by phone or in person. The TDC will complete the donor risk assessment, behavioral risk assessment, donor workup process, gather and evaluate an in-depth medical history, and work closely with the Organ team to assess tissue eligibility. Additionally, you will maintain authorization rates based on established QAPI metrics, complete authorization paperwork, and identify the appropriate authorizing person based on legal order of priority. Finally, the TDC will be responsible for the completion of follow-up screenings and clearly communicating donor status to Tissue Recovery Coordinators, hospitals, Organ Coordinators, and others.

　　MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

　　Associate's degree in health sciences, science-related field, communication, or psychology preferred, and/or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experienceCTBS, CEBT, CPTC, ASCP certification preferredExperience Required:

　　One year of equivalent experience in one of the following: medical experience, grief or crisis management, medical or dental customer service, tissue banking with an Associate's degree, or two years of equivalent experience without an Associate's degreeMedical terminologyKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:
