SERS seeks to fill our agency Time Advisor position.  Although you will be responsible for a defined set of duties, you will gain exposure to a wide array of HR functions.  This is what makes working in a small HR shop unique.  Our ideal candidate strives for accuracy, has a keen eye for details, possesses outstanding organizational skills, excels at switching between multiple tasks, provides exceptional customer service, and enjoys resolving problems.  DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs an HR Analyst 1 (Gen), you will be responsible for supervising an HR Assistant and for performing various workforce support services.  As the agency's Time Advisor, you have overall responsibility for the agency's time and attendance program.  Be advised, you will be expected to schedule your absences around the payroll processing schedule.  Additionally, you serve as the agency's Workers' Compensation Coordinator and Supplementary Employment Coordinator.  As an HR Generalist for a small HR office, you may be tasked to provide support to other HR functional areas.

SERS is located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Situated along the Susquehanna River, Harrisburg is an affordable city in which to live and is located just a few hours from Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington D.C.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week, Monday through Friday.

Work hours are 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with a 60-minute unpaid meal period from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

Telework:  You may have the opportunity to work from home part-time (hybrid telework schedule), up to two days per week (Monday and Thursday), depending on operational needs and progress in learning assigned tasks.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania; otherwise, you must work on-site at the work location specified in this job posting.

Salary:  In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:One year of experience in the performance of technical human resource duties; and a bachelor's degree; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:This position requires you to have a minimum of six months of full-time work experience in a timekeeping role using a timekeeping system (e.g., Kronos, SAP, etc.) as your primary job function.You must meet the PA residency requirement.
