  Description

  JOB DESCRIPTION:

  The Director, Laboratory of Biochemical Pharmacology (LOBP) Center Operations in Emory's University's Pediatrics department serves as the principal manager responsible for all of the Center's research business activities and administrative services in all its sites.

  Assists the Director and faculty in successfully developing, promoting, implementing, and achieving the Center's strategic plans for research.

  Manages the operational and administrative components of the center.

  Recruits and supervises staff to support the academic and administrative activities at all sites in accordance with established policies and procedures.

  Manages the center's finances and analyzes revenue.

  Compiles and analyzes data and develops reports.

  Provides administrative management of research operations, including compliance with University and government regulations.

  Handles facilities management responsibilities, including compliance with environmental safety and other regulations.

  Assists the Director and faculty in strategic planning and development in research operations, business, and programs.

  Assists in grant proposal preparation.

  Works with all participants and others to ensure that the Center renders high quality services.

  Develops and maintains excellent information technology services and internet presence for research participants, working with Emory University.

  Provides dynamic, collegial, and intelligent leadership and liaisons in assuring that operations of the Center are expert, efficient, and cost-effective, and that the Center fulfills its research goals.

  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  A master's degree (PhD preferred) in a scientific field, finance, health policy, public health, or a related field.

  Minimum of five (5) years of managerial experience.

  Documented successful clinical and/or academic management experience, both operational and fiscal, including prior Profit & Loss responsibilities.

  Demonstrated leadership in strategic planning, including resource allocation processes.

  Operational understanding of the academic setting and administration, its diverse constituents, and complex healthcare organizational structures.

  PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  PhD in a Scientific Field.

  Research experience preferred.

  NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
