JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB SUMMARY This position develops and maintainsexpert level skills in testing of power transformer. Performs lowvoltage tests like ratio, Doble, megger, HV dielectric testing likeimpulse, applied voltage, induce, loss measurement, sound test andSFRA.PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform all required tests ontransformers, control box, other components and subassemblies inaccordance with established procedures and specific instructions Developand maintain expert level skills in testing of controls and auxiliarydevices including control box pre-test, fan motor and LTC wiring andfunctional test, LTC oil filter pre-test, CT wiring, relay tests,electronic and PLC based instrumentations like ETM and gas analyzersHandles non conformities per procedure including documenting andsegregating Troubleshoots failure based on procedure and/or underguidance Performs basic preventive maintenance and 5S of work station,test equipment, test floor and offices Calculates test data to verifytest parameters and evaluate test result calculations to determineacceptability of test Records and files test result calculations andanalyzes final test reports Moving and setting up transformers,assemblies and auxiliary devices to and from test floor Clean andmaintain test floor facilities Document non-conformance and supporttroubleshooting activities Create preliminary test reportsKNOWLEDGE,SKILLS & ABILITIES Technical knowledge and experience to completely testpower transformers and associated auxiliary apparatus Documentation andcalculation involved with transformer testing Ability to calculate testresults interpret to determine product acceptance or rejection Computerproficiency using Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel and PC based testequipment Physical work and calculations of test results performed in atimely, systematic, and error free manner Understanding of electricityand safety rules pertaining to electricity Demonstrate competency andparticipate in the continuous improvement process Work assignmentsinvolve specific instructions, established procedures, and adherence toindustry standards Able to perform basic electrical engineeringcalculations and able to interpret results Knowledge of appropriateindustry standards such as IEEE and IEC Work involves dealing with veryhigh voltages Ability to communicate with peers, inspectors,manufacturing, planning, marketing and engineering departments.
