Summit Technical Solutions (STS) (http://sts-llc.com/) is seeking a Test Engineer II to support the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) as part of the Aircraft Monitor and Control (AMAC) test teams. The AMAC test teams will work with other testing professionals, hardware and software developers, maintenance personnel, System Program Office, and engineers to build test plans with test cases based on user requirements resulting in the development of testing solutions to ensure the current and next generation of weapons operate seamlessly on U.S. aircrafts. It will require travel (potentially OCONUS) and home base near Kirtland AFB NM.
Essential Job Functions
Experience in test and evaluation, system design, or electrical systems; or experience with aircraft systems.
This includes developing and documentation test plans and procedures, conducting testing, and evaluating and documenting results.
Prepares studies, plans and analyses in support of the delivery order.
Ability to travel up to 50-75% some months; travel will vary, but will sometimes be significant.
Required SkillsRequired Experience
Experience with aircraft, weapons, and on aircraft testing
Ability to perform unsupervised and operate test equipment, troubleshoot test equipment and aircraft faults
2-5 years’ experience in the field or in a related area
Experience troubleshooting or repairing test equipment
Experience writing test reports, performing data analysis and writing reports.
Preferred:
Experience with flightline operations, logistics in shipping of equipment to and from CONUS and OCONUS locations, as well as test data processing and analysis
Knowledge of aircraft electronics and 1553 data bus
Experience on DoD flightlines
Experience with Nuclear Certification
Education
Required: N/A
Preferred: Bachelor’s or Masters’ Degree
Other Requirements
U.S. Citizen
Active Top Secret clearance (minimum) and the ability to maintain the clearance throughout period of employment.
