Senior Project Manager - Assessment Services

Join our dynamic Work Force Skills (WFS) division as a Senior Project Manager within the GED Testing Service, reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Technical Project Management. In this crucial role, you'll support the Assessment Services team in all areas of project management, test development, and program management.

As our Senior Project Manager, your core responsibilities will include:

Special Projects :

Lead complex projects by defining scope, managing schedules, and facilitating cross-departmental communications to ensure successful completion.

Leverage strong critical thinking skills to create project plans, document requirements, track progress, analyze risks, investigate root causes, and implement preventative actions.

Provide accurate and timely reporting, driving the execution of cross-functional projects involving formal meetings, extensive research, and in-depth product knowledge.

Test Development Management :

Initiate, maintain, and monitor annual contracts, new agreements, invoices, and payments in collaboration with Legal, Finance, Technology, and external contractors.

Coordinate and manage item bank activities, including implementation and maintenance.

Establish and oversee processes and materials for external vendors/contractors related to item/passage development, committees, special forms, SOWs/contracts, etc.

Support content leads in various aspects of item development, test construction, forms review, data review, and training.

Develop, manage, and execute project support documents and processes for the internal team.

Program Management :

Determine the necessity for and facilitate meetings with internal and external stakeholders, recording, distributing, and managing meeting decisions and action items.

Establish, manage, and execute tasks, schedules, and reports for stakeholders.

Perform additional duties to support the overall GEDTS Assessment Services Unit as assigned.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.

3+ years of experience in the assessment industry as a project manager or similar role, working on complex assessment programs.

Preferred: 2+ years in the assessment industry as a content specialist, content manager, test development manager or 3+ years as a project manager.

Preferred: 1+ year experience with test authoring systems, test banking systems, and workflow/task management tools (Asana, Trello, Monday, JIRA).

Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite and leading project management software (MS Project, SmartSheets, etc.).

Exceptional critical thinking, project planning, project execution, and organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and individuals, adapting to changing priorities and unexpected requests.

Proven ability to quickly learn complex processes and provide viable solutions.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for conveying complex information to internal and external stakeholders.

Meticulous attention to detail and ability to accurately document and complete complex tasks.

Strong prioritization skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Collaborative leadership and team player capabilities.

Robust problem-solving and critical thinking aptitudes.
