Grid Access (GA)
The Tender Manager will support proposal activities for Grid Solutions and report directly to the Head of Tender Management for North America. The role will require close coordination and teamwork with Business Development, Engineering, Procurement, and Project Management functions during the acquisition phase of assigned projects.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Full responsibility for leading the tenders for large EPC/Consortium Projects in HVDC and Grid Access business (e.g., cost, time, functionality, customer satisfaction), in cooperation with our sales colleagues.
Reporting to the Sales Project Manager, leading the technical solution of the overall project comprising of packages ranging from HV equipment, and machinery equipment to civil and installation packages throughout all the phases from design, construction, manufacturing, and installation to commissioning.
Collaborate with the Global team in Germany to ensure a complete bid package to customers.
Driving Risk, Opportunity, and Issue Management by devising suitable strategies for risk mitigation.
Supporting by influencing the formulation of vital contracts, negotiating with partners on Change Requests, and incorporating them into contracts as well as the subsequent contract and claim management.
Driving cost awareness and cost reduction programs to maintain our competitiveness.
Ensuring efficient communication with all relevant partners as well as targeted and full communication within the project team and supporting the framework to ensure regular checks of compliance in the tender project.
Validate and endorse the technical aspects of the solutions offered in the bids.
Work closely with the supply chain group to collaborate on supplier quotes.
What You Bring
Minimum of bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering.
Master’s engineering degree or Electrical Engineering degree is preferred!
Long-term experience in tender project management and tools.
Deep knowledge and skills in project engineering and design in power transmission and distribution.
Top-tier understanding and background of HVDC and Grid Access projects (engineering and project management), PM-Certification would be a plus.
Good understanding of business processes, commercial basics as well as legal topics.
Hands-on attitude combined with strong presentation skills at all levels.
Profound leadership experience in leading and managing international teams incl. team motivation as well as good knowledge of economics in project business and strong knowledge of EHS and know-how in Compliance Regulations.
Proven discernment in balancing customer and business requirements, i.e., operational, financial, strategic, and tactical thinking, etc.
Technical and business-type verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Inherent ability to work effectively in a team environment and a strong desire to win.
Organization and time management skills to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to travel as business requires.
