Temporary Apprentice Power Lineman Join our team at East River Electric Power Cooperative! We are seeking a temporary Apprentice Power Lineman to join our transmission line construction team. In this role you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working directly with experienced team members on various transmission line installation and maintenance projects. This position involves extensive out-of-town travel and is eligible to work up to 1000 hours. What You'll Accomplish Assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of transmission lines at heights up to 100 feet. Operate and maintain a variety of tools used in power line construction and maintenance activities. Collaborate with experienced linemen to learn techniques and best practices for power line work. Travel with the transmission construction crew to various work site locations in eastern SD and western MN. Participate in safety meetings and comply with all safety procedures. A degree/certificate for a power line technical program A Class A Commercial Drivers' License (CDL) Experience with mobile technology and Microsoft Office products The ability work outdoors with considerable physical exertion, occasionally in adverse weather conditions Willingness to learn and take on new tasks in a team environment Position Details Hourly pay rate is $25.00 Paid work-related travel expenses PPE gear provided Summer work schedule is a 4/10 work week with 10-hour days M-Th and every Friday off Desired start date is April or May, but will depend on candidate availability Our Cooperative Community At East River Electric Power Cooperative we're dedicated to providing reliable and affordable wholesale power to our members across 40,000 square miles of service area.
