Job Description:
The Product Integration Group of L3Harris Technologies in Rochester, New York, is looking for an Experienced Aerospace Lead Tool Maker/Technical Lead. The candidate would be required to lead a lab of experienced Aerospace Technicians. Including prioritizing/delegating workload and responsible for the training/mentoring process and implementation. They will collaborate with product planning and program management establishing schedules and estimates for flight hardware. This position will perform a variety of operations, participating and leading the assembly & integration of high value and highly complex electromechanical and opto-mechanical space flight hardware. This role involves working directly with engineers, program, and operations management on items such as DFMA, schedule attainment and organizational growth.
Essential Functions:
Minimal 10 years experience in Aerospace manufacturing and/or prototyping environment.
Experience leading teams and complex Aerospace integration tasks.
Experience with schedule attainment and training processes.
Willingness to work overtime, shift work, weekends, holidays, and some travel.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens and be willing to submit to a background investigation, as a government security clearance might be required for this position.
Must be able to read engineering drawings/blueprints/schematics and detailed work instructions.
Ability to maintain accurate records and manufacturing documentation.
Must be mechanically inclined, and be able to work with very fragile and precise assemblies
Speaks clearly and concisely, presenting ideas effectively to individuals or groups.
Ability to identify problems and suggest solutions.
Demonstrates appropriate computer knowledge.
Understands and adheres to established policies, procedures and proper labor charging practices.
Must be able to perform as an individual contributor as well as within a team environment.
Qualifications:
Clearance TS/SCI*
Requires HS Diploma or GED and a minimum of 10 years Aerospace production/manufacturing experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Associates Degree or Skilled Journeyman Certification.
Experience in an Electrical/Mechanical/Optical discipline.
Able to be certified to IPC JSTD or comparable NASA certifications.
Lean Manufacturing practices.
Aerospace or Defense industry experience.
