  This position can be filled as a Technical Support Specialist I, II, III, or Senior depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

  This position may be filled in New Orleans, LA or Jackson, MS.

  JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY:

  Responsible for developing, implementing, and managing improvement projects, and/or provide diagnostic subject matter expertise to enhance the overall reliability, efficiency, and safety of the plant. Position can exist in the following environments: Plant, Plant Support, or Fleet Maintenance.

  JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  Conduct root cause analysis and prepare reports for management use

  Provide primary or backup technical support for various plant system and processes

  Utilize experience, knowledge, and online monitoring systems and tools to analyze, trend, and monitor plant equipment performance data in an effort to improve plant operation

  Provide technical support to maintenance, outage, and capital projects

  Technical Lead on specific / complex projects

  Support equipment problem solving, condition assessments, and represent Entergy during OEM discussions or shop repairs. Plant Support assignments may engage in diagnostic services (vibration analysis, off-line motor testing, Infra-red, performance testing, vacuum leak-detection, etc.)

  MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  Minimum education required of the position:

  High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience

  Desired:

  Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or B.S. Degree in Science in a technical field

  Minimum experience required of the position:

  Tech Support Specialist I: 0-2 years of power plant or relevant technical experience is preferred.

  Tech Support Specialist II: 2-4 years of power plant or relevant technical experience is preferred.

  Tech Support Specialist III: 4-6 years of power plant or relevant technical experience is preferred.

  Tech Support Specialist Sr: 6+ years of power plant or relevant technical experience is preferred.

  Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position:

  Proficiency in all applications of the Microsoft Toolkit

  Must possess good computer skills

  Ability to work independent of direct supervision

  Good communication skills also required

  Duties often require call outs and work after normal hours

  Be able to keep records and reports

  Any certifications, licenses, etc.
