  Vanda Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: VNDA) is a specialty pharmaceuticalcompany focused on the development and commercialization of novel therapies toaddress high unmet medical needs and improve the lives of patients. We arelooking for a Neuroscience District Sales Manager who wants to join aninnovative and dynamic sales organization and to make a difference inpatients' lives every day.Reporting to the Regional Sales Director, the DSM is responsible foreffectively leading, coaching and managing a team of 8-10 NeuroscienceAccount Managers. The DSM will be responsible for driving key strategicinitiatives and leading the strategy execution within their district. Thedistrict geography includes 8-10 territories that can cover one or morestates. The DSM will be responsible for driving business results througheffective cross-functional leadership and collaboration with SalesLeadership, Medical Affairs, and other key internal and external stakeholders.Education & Experience Requirements:Bachelor's Degree; Advanced degree a plus.10+ years in the pharmaceuticals industry with 4 years of Sales Managementpreferred.Specialty experience preferred: CNS, neurology, pain management, otherspecialty experience will be considered. Experience selling in the MS marketdesirable.Demonstrated ability to recruit, retain and develop high performing team ofspecialty sales representatives.Documented high performance of sales and leadership track record.Driver's license and clean driving history.Ability to secure and maintain reasonable industry-standard credentialingrequirements of healthcare providers, customer facilities, andstate/local governments.Ability to build and sustain positive relationships.Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.Demonstrate strong analytical and business acumen.Must reside near major airport within the district.Ability to maintain effectiveness and flexibility in an innovative workenvironment.Experience in small company and start-up work environments.Ability to travel up to 75%Performance Competencies:Goal and results driven - proven track record of above average results.Excellent people management/supervisory skills; strong ability to developand coach specialty sales representatives, and the ability to lead andmentor the team.Highly clinical, patient centric and tactical with excellent communicationskills (interpersonal, verbal, written).Outstanding work ethic; self-motivated and able to work independently andmake sound decisions.Dynamic; high-impact individual with effective selling and presentationskills.Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.Ability to read situations quickly and adjust for roadblocks.Demonstrated technical aptitude; working proficiency in , Excel, andPowerPoint.The total compensation package for this position will also include incentivecompensation and benefits such as health insurance, unlimited paid timeoff, parental leave, a 401k matching program, a car allowance, andother benefits to its employees.We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receiveconsideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion,sex, national origin, disability, gender identity, sexualorientation, protected veteran status, or any other characteristicprotected byIf you are a resident of Illinois, Colorado, Connecticut, New YorkCity, Washington State, you are eligible to receive additional informationabout the compensation and benefits, which we will provide upon request.
