  Our strategic unit with Collins, Connected Aviation Solutions (CAS), provides advanced information management systems, products and services that enable the connected aviation ecosystem by bringing together Collins’ unique breadth of aviation products with our smart digital solutions to help us enhance every aspect of the end-to-end travel experience. The Network and Connectivity Engineering (NCE) Team within CAS Engineering has the responsibility Air Traffic Control and Airline operational data on a secure, high-availability communication system between aircraft and their airline hosts systems and Civil Aviation Authorities.

  As a Technical Project Manager on the NCE team, you will be acting as lead of innovative teams responsible for designing and developing our next generation of industry-leading communication products. The candidate will work with engineering management, program management, technical engineering leads across multiple disciplines, and engineering support groups. This is an engineering leadership position with focus on the full lifecycle of communications systems to provide solutions and support for commercial and government aviation customers. The organizational objective is to successfully design, develop, and maintain the GLOBALink service for the aviation industry. This is an ideal role for anyone who enjoys leading end-to-end solutions.  You will play a pivotal role in this targeted growth area of the Collins Aerospace company.

  YOU will scope yearly engineering work.

  YOU will develop an upgrade and migration roadmap.

  YOU will lead a multi-disciplined engineering team that works across the breadth of the GLOBALink service components.

  YOU will oversee the full life cycle of the project.

  YOU will learn how the GLOBALink service provides value to the aviation industry.

  YOU will learn how to design solutions and lead system upgrades to improve the GLOBALink service for the aviation industry.

  YOU will learn to speak and then educate others on what the GLOBALink service means in the aviation ecosystem.

  Education & Experience:

  Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.

  Skills you must have:

  Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.

  Experience as a Technical Project Manager, Product Owner, Product Manager, and/or Project Manager with proficiency in project and program management concepts, methodologies, practices, and technologies. 

  Experience in designing High-Availability systems.

  Experience in the System Engineering lifecycle from Statement of Need development to system requirement and design.

  Skills we value:

  The salary range for this role is 105,000 USD - 221,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

  Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

  This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
