HP is growing our highly skilled Personal Systems Experience & Innovation team with the addition of a Technical Program Manager. The Program Manager will apply technical and program management expertise to lead cross-functional teams and define PC client subsystem strategy, experience and technology solutions, and solution delivery strategies. The subsystems will include audio, camera, battery, keyboard, and touchpads.
The Program Manager will lead cross-functional teams and projects as well as narrow, strategic projects within the business unit. All will affect the organization’s long-term goals and objectives. The role requires routinely exercising independent judgement to determine best methods for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.
Responsibilities:
Manages and leads key programs involving multiple functions and program teams to drive the development and implementation process for multiple products or solution offerings.
Directs the development of overall program strategy, budgets, resource allocation plans, and general program requirements.
Manages activities of supporting program teams and internal and external development partners; ensures alignment with strategy.
Communicates program progress, escalations, and issue analysis to product stakeholders.
Collaborates with management and development partners to recommend and implement changes to products, processes, or business practices to drive continuous improvement and manage program costs.
Drives innovation and integration of new technologies and quality initiatives into projects and activities.
Leads and provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members to set an example of program management innovation and excellence.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management, Engineering, Computer Sciences, or equivalent.
PMP/PMI certification preferred.
Typically 6-10 years of applicable experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
Demonstrated history of program management excellence.
Knowledge of PC Client technologies, including audio, camera, battery, keyboard, and touchpad subsystems.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated business acumen, understanding of organizational strategy, and successful experience managing all aspects of cross-business unit programs, including communicating with internal and external stakeholders and directing matrixed teams and resources.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to effectively communicate program management architectures, plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at executive levels.
