Job Summary
As an experienced Technical Portfolio Manager at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking team, you thrive at managing complex technology programs that have far-reaching implications for clients, employees, and stakeholders throughout the firm. This role requires a strong grasp of the big-picture - namely, how can technology help achieve business goals - as well as a keen ability to establish priorities, manage resources and budgets, and build and incentivize high-performing teams. You will work closely with colleagues across the firm to establish and communicate department goals that support and advance objectives; establish metrics or other performance measures to track progress. You will also support budget, schedule, and resource activities at the portfolio and project level across multiple programs and projects. Just as importantly, you'll work with your team to set goals, foster collaboration, and promote the values, culture, and brand of JPMorgan Chase & Co.
Job Responsibilities
Partner with leaders to develop and drive the long-term tech strategic plans that align with the tech vision, mission, and objectives. Assist in setting priorities, defining tech OKRs, and tracking progress towards established goals.
Develop and maintain reporting mechanisms to track the progress and impact of technology initiatives. Present regular updates and reports to senior management and the executive team.
Drive for standardization of process, templates, cadences across the portfolio. Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and implement best practices to support sustainable growth.
Partner with finance on budget planning and resource allocation. Work closely with finance and HR teams to ensure appropriate allocation of funds and staffing to support key projects and operational needs.
Plan and execute communication strategy needed to support tech mission and objectives. Plan and manage cadences including All Hands, staff meetings and monthly tech reviews.
Help make the team a great place to work. In partnership with HR and the Leadership Team, shape and drive the people agenda and lead team health initiatives. Orchestrate team trainings and learning series to contribute to ongoing development.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
Formal training or certification of Tech Strategy/Technical Portfolio/Program Management concepts and 15+ years applied experience.
Experience in leading the development of tech strategy.
Experience in agile product development and experience with defining and implementing new processes.
Expert knowledge in all business processes across an entire line of business as well as expertise in other lines of business and technology disciplines.
Understanding of global and line of business project and program management standards and methods.
Experience working with high-performing teams in complex program execution.
Strong understanding of Waterfall and Agile methods; stakeholder management; budget management, risk management and operations.
Ability to create and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders throughout the firm.
Excellent communications and engagement abilities, including the ability to know your audience, communicate through numerous channels, and operate comfortably at all levels of the business.
A successful track record of driving results through large organizations by influencing others, taking ownership of projects and leading data-driven analyses to make better decisions.
