  About the Opportunity:

We are one of the delivery partners for NEOM THE LINE, one of the most iconic giga projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, arguably one of the largest projects in the world. Based at NEOM Site, Jacobs has an opening for a Technical Manager – Mechanical VTHT. The Technical Manager will be responsible for:

  Managing Mechanical VTHT engineering activities (lifts, escalators, travellators, etc.) within the context of site engineering and across multiple units.

  Performs both a technical and administrative role, coordinates MEP related delivery requirements with Client, users, and other program entities, and provides site support in conformance to project standards and specifications.

  Additionally, is responsible to coordinate and provide specialist input at every phase of a project from Pre-Contract stage through Post-Contract stage, including commissioning, hand over and user group training as required.

  Responsible for reviewing all related engineering packages assigned to the projects to ensure program goals and objectives are achieved (e.g., package completeness, safety & quality, schedule, and cost, etc.).

  Prepare periodic reports, summarizing progress of engineering related (pre- and post-) construction activities to Sr. Technical Manager – Mechanical Transport, including presentations.

  Provide engineering and support activities for Utilities-MEP work packages from conception to completion/ handover within areas of responsibility.

  Perform design reviews (constructability), material submittals, shop drawings, etc. to maximize project efficiency, maintain schedules, and meet budgetary goals as appropriate.

  Use of sound engineering practices to attain required quality control, maximize efficiency & minimize cost.

  Monitor, coordinate and control the flow of MEP design information to ensure the timely release of information for construction activities, in accordance with MEP Delivery strategy and contract type.

  Assist in preparing tender document scope of works and assist in supply chain development.

  Ensure that tenders received from contractors are in accordance with required specification.

  Assist with tender returns, including RFC/ RFI responses and tender assessments during the project stages.

  Review contractors’ submittals, including programmes, progress reports, VTHT (MEP) test plans, method statements and risk assessments, coordinating any required workshops for comment resolution.

  Review/ comment on NCRs (non-conformance reports) and corrective action reports.

  Assist the STM and the Testing & Commissioning team, providing engineering input to ensure quality control requirements are attained, including acceptance testing (factory, site, routine, etc.).

  Here's What You'll Need:

  Have a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or related engineering (or construction-engineering management).

  Proven technical experience of VTHT systems

  Able to demonstrate widely diversified knowledge of VTHT systems to be used during construction engineering activities, as well as the understanding of methods and techniques used by installation contractors

  Have a minimum of 20 years of experience

  Diversified knowledge of Utilities-MEP and Systems engineering, and construction related processes and industry practices

  Demonstrated effective managerial capability on construction projects of comparable scope and complexity, as well as excellent written and oral communications skills

  Demonstrated Interface Management with ability to operate in fast paced and pressured environment, while being able to maintain clear decision making; capable of working within a multi discipline team and across multiple interfaces

  Construction management experience from inception through to finishes/fit out would be preferred

  Experience in pre and post contract phases
