Talbot is an international insurer and reinsurer operating within the Lloyd’s market through Syndicates 1183 and 2019. We have been part of AIG since 2018 and our ambition is to be AIG’s Centre of Excellence at Lloyd’s. Headquartered in London, Talbot has offices in New York and Singapore and over 300 people working across these three locations.

Syndicate 1183 underwrites multiple classes of business including Political Violence/Terrorism, Marine, Energy (off-shore and on-shore), Marine and Energy Liability, Hull, Cargo and Specie, Political Risk, Property, Accident and Health, Financial Lines, Cyber, Alternative Risks, Non-Physical Cyber and Treaty Reinsurance. Syndicate 2019 reinsures premium written by AIG’s Private Client Group, covering Homeowners, Auto, General Specie and other products.
About the role
Key Responsibilities:
Underwriting support and administration for Cargo, Political Risk, Financial Lines and Product Recall lines of business. To carry out and assist the Underwriters with the following:
Ensure that the underwriting technical support processes run professionally and smoothly while adhering to regulatory requirements.
Adhere to the guidelines in document retention policy and ensure timely and complete scanning and indexing of documents in DMS.
Maintain excellent data quality through timely and meticulous data entry in accordance with agreed guidelines
Assist underwriting teams in addressing the mailbox queries in order to meet agreed SLA’s.
Serve as liaison between the Premium Management Team and underwriting teams and strive to be the SME for various underwriting systems.
Act as an escalation point for the Premium management team as required by the underwriters, assisting in premium allocations and USM processing.
Prepare and host regular underwriting meetings and assist in ad-hoc administration duties when required.
Generate reports for Lloyd’s and weekly premium management reporting.
Technical Assistants are integral members of their underwriting teams whilst sharing best practices and provide cover to other Technical Assistants.
What we’re looking for:
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Competency in Microsoft Office and excellent general computer literacy.
Meticulous and attention to details.
Diploma / Degree in any field with/without relevant experience.
