Our Johnson City, TN Location is looking for someone to join our team as the Team Lead in our Assembly cell on 2nd Shift . This shift is scheduled to work Monday through Thursday, 4:00 pm to 2:00 am. Must be able to work occasional Friday’s to meet customer demand.

SCOPE
While continuing functions of a manufacturing operator, this position assists Operations Line Managers in coordinating activities of workers in the manufacturing processes, utilizing knowledge of equipment, procedures and specifications. He/she is responsible for assisting in the planning, organizing and leading the production of manufacturing operations to ensure that department and division goals are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains a clean, safe work environment. Reports/investigates all accidents, near misses, and hazardous conditions as required.
Ensures manufacturing practices are consistent with Dentsply Sirona policies and procedures as well as relelvant FDA, ISO, EPA, 6S, GMP and OSHA guidelines and regulations. Ensures full compliance with regulatory, safety and Human Resources programs within manufacturing.
Provides daily assignments and team leadership/coaching/mentoring to workforce and monitor efficiencies in relation to established expectations and OEE. Trains/coaches/motivates department personnel to effectively meet operational requirements.
Maintains an adequate supply of necessary tools and equipment to ensure that production schedules are met in a safe and timely manner. Submits purchase order requests as needed.
Maintains operations of the department under the direction of the Operations Line Manager, within constraints of approved annual expense budgets.
Ensures compliance of the Standard Operating Procedures and Operation Sheets to comply with all relevant state, federal and international rules and regulations and all departmental audits.
Focuses on and identifies continuous improvement efforts to further enhance the department’s ability to meet established goals and objectives.
Participates in employee cross-functional teams to improve the effectiveness of the department, foster teamwork, and meet long-term goals.
Assists with troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.
Assist with interviewing for potential employees of the department. Makes recommendations of candidate selection.
Executes the daily production schedule through the coordination of people, materials, and machines. Ensures production priorities communicated to them by the Unit Leads and OL Managers are met in order to meet customer requirements.
Works with Unit Leads to be aware of training needs and ensure to provide appropriate time for team members to complete required training.
As part of the coordination of people, appropriately assign a trainee with a qualified trainer.
Communicate throughout the shift with Unit Leads and OL Managers any safety, environmental, production, quality, maintenance, or personnel issues.
Depending on the needs of the company, the employee may be entrusted with and asked to perform other tasks related to his/her competence.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) a plus; Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred; or, equivalent combination of education and experience
YEARS AND TYPE OF EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 2 years relevant work experience required or equivalent combination of education and manufacturing experience.
KEY REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND CAPABILITIES
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to professionally write routine correspondence using applicable computer software.
Ability to effectively and clearly communicate one-on-one and small group situation. Customers, clients, and/or other employees of the organization.
Ability to perform basic mathematical function such as adding/subtracting, multiplying/dividing, measuring whole numbers and fractions, calculate percentages.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule format.
Must have basic computer skills (Microsoft office, data entry into manufacturing software).
