　　Center for Autism Research and Educational Services (CARES), located in Downingtown, PA is seeking a Teacher Assistant to provide direct behavioral intervention to student. We offer an environment that is supportive, educational and clinically focused. This position will give you the opportunity to work directly with children diagnosed with Autism 1:1 within a structured classroom environment with Special Education Teachers, Behavior Analyst and Autism professionals. You will increase your knowledge and improve your skills related to behavior intervention, functional assessment and collaboration with a team that is inclusive and individualized.CARES serves up to 60 children, ages 5 through 21, with a confirmed primary diagnosis of Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, or Pervasive Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified (PDD/NOS).

　　Shift: 8am-4pm, Monday - Friday

　　Every day as a Teacher Assistant you will....

　　Ensure student safety

　　Assist in establishing classroom environments that is conducive to maximum learning by maintaining structure and guiding students to socially appropriate behaviors

　　Work with the Special Education Teachers to implement skill acquisition and behavioral reduction programs individually and in small groups

　　Perform ongoing data collection and record keeping as directed by Special Education Teacher

　　Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services (DPACS) center serves children, adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), residential treatment (RTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives. A primary focus throughout the program is the philosophy of Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS), a program-wide system of care that promotes and rewards positive behaviors, and prevents negative behaviors, to create safe, supportive living environments. Each year, more than 1,000 children and adolescents receive specialized care, in the environment best suited to the unique challenges they face, all with the goal of providing each child with the academic, social, emotional and life skills needed to flourish in their home community.

　　Qualifications

　　EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Special Education preferred.

　　EXPERIENCE: Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders

　　Preferred. Proficient computer skills, mastery of Microsoft Office Applications, experience with data collection/analyzing platforms

　　(Radar, Pro-Filer, and/or other internal and external software applications pertinent to the position). Strong organizational skills.

　　Excellent oral and written communication skills. Requires ability to work independently, prioritize, manage multiple tasks

　　simultaneously, and adhere to established guidelines. Valid driver's license must be maintained.
