Position Overview: This positionperforms tax planning and preparation services for clients. Manages thedelivery of tax and accounting products and services. Promotes andmarkets tax and accounting products and services to clients and eligibleprospects. Essential Functions: * Performs tax projections and workswith clients to develop strategic tax plans in accordance with Compeerpolicies and procedures and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) coderequirements. * Provides tax and accounting consulting services on awide range of issues affecting clients. * Prepares income tax returnsfor individual, partnership and corporate clients. * Recognizes andmatches Compeer products based on client needs. * Prepares payroll tax,1099, W2 and related forms and reports. * Collects on delinquent clientaccounts. * Establishes and maintains strong client relationships. *Maintains trial balance, general ledger and fixed asset schedules forinternal and non-accounting clients. * Assists clients with questionsregarding accounting processes, records and outcomes using QuickBooksSoftware. * Provides technical tax and accounting expertise to teammembers and clients when questions arise. * Advises local peer groupmembers on tax law changes and the affects to client businesses. *Participates in the development and presentation of ongoing educationalprograms for Compeer team members and clients regarding tax andaccounting services. * Assists Compeer team members on client visitsand at agriculture or community events to develop knowledge in allCompeer products and services. Minimum Qualifications & RequiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Bachelor\'s degree in accounting orrelated field or an equivalent combination of education and experiencesufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. * 3+ years ofexperience in tax planning and preparation. * Certified PublicAccountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification required. *Ability to earn Farm Credit Services Tax certification within twoattempts. Assistance from Compeer provided. * Knowledge of federal andstate laws, regulations and compliance requirements specific to thefinancial industry. * Ability to communicate Compeer\'s \"value added\"business and financial concepts to attract new prospects. * Solidknowledge of tax and accounting products, services, policies, andprocedures. * Listening, written and verbal communication skills, withability to communicate at all levels of the organization. * Exercises ahigh level of ethical and professional judgement. * Skill in developingand maintaining interpersonal relationships. * Ability to givepresentations one-on-one or to a group. * High level of integrity. *Problem solving, decision making and organizational skills. * Computerskills, including Microsoft Office applications and tax and accountingsoftware. * Analytical skills with attention to detail. * Ability togrow client portfolio. * Valid driver\'s license. * Experience inplanning and preparation of farm taxes preferred.
