We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cyber Engineer to join our team to create new technologies and solutions to enhance cyber security of systems and infrastructures in large-scale government programs. As a Cyber Engineer, you will work closely with our Cyber Security Lead Engineer, IT team, and other stakeholders to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities and develop and implement mitigation solutions to defend against all types of cybercrimes. This position includes up to 25% travel in and around the Maryland, Virginia, and DC area.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology systems engineering, or a related field or applicable work experience.
Secret security clearance.
Two years of experience in cyber engineering (e.g., incident detection, incident response, forensic), preferably in the government sector.
In-depth knowledge of cyber security principles, best practices, and technologies.
Experience with security assessment and penetration testing.
Awareness of cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques, (e.g., Mitre Attack Framework, Advance Persistent Threats).
Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, DoD Compliance Frameworks, such as DoDI 8510, DoDI 8570, Zero Trust Architectures).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities:
Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade security measures for the protection of the program’s data, systems, and networks.
Troubleshoot security and network problems.
Conduct security assessments and penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities and implement appropriate security controls to counter vulnerabilities.
Proactively monitor and analyze security logs and events to prevent, detect and respond to security incidents.
Maintain currency of the latest cyber security threats and trends and implement proactive measures to mitigate risks.
As a Cyber Engineer, you will play a critical role in enhancing cybersecurity in large-scale government programs. Your expertise in cyber engineering and your ability to implement new technologies and solutions will contribute to the overall security of government programs. You will work in a collaborative and dynamic environment, interacting with various stakeholders to enhance cybersecurity.
