  Minimum qualifications:

  Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent practical experience.

  4 years of experience with tax and information reporting.

  Preferred qualifications: JD or Master's degree in Taxation, or a related field.

  Experience with Information Reporting and Withholding tax.

  Experience working in a public accounting firm, law firm, government, or corporate tax department.

Made up of smart, perceptive Googlers with a flair for domestic, international, and sales and use tax, the knowledge and expertise of this team runs deep. You have years of experience in this field and an extensive knowledge of those tax issues most relevant to internet companies. While we don't give our Googlers individual tax advice, you make it easy for Googlers to get what they need to make good tax decisions. You find ways to work smarter by streamlining and automating our tax processes and systems, and find ways to be both innovative and compliant.

  The purpose of the Information Reporting and Withholding (IRW) Advisory team is to provide expert guidance and support to our stakeholders in navigating the complex landscape of information reporting and withholding requirements. Our team is dedicated to helping stakeholders achieve compliance, mitigate risks, and optimize their reporting processes.

From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

  The US base salary range for this full-time position is $102,000-$150,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

  Responsibilities

  Act as an IRW subject-matter expert and provide guidance and support to business and product areas, tax operations, and engineers on complying with IRW requirements. Advise tax operations on annual filing of information returns and periodic tax deposits. Review monthly reconciliations of tax withholding General Ledger (GL) accounts. Advise on transactions that fall under IRC Section 6050W and the associated Form 1099-K requirements, review tax information returns for completeness, validity and accuracy with tax operations, and manage compliance with FATCA and CRS. Research and respond to internal day-to-day questions and provide guidance to product areas, tax operations, and engineers on United States tax information reporting and withholding rules. Provide technical guidance on tax legislation and advise stakeholders on the implementation of tax legislation as it relates to tax information reporting and withholding.
