Associate Tax Accountant, Corporate Tax Reimbursement

Full Time, 80 hours per pay period, Day Shift

Position Summary:

Under close supervision, prepares and maintains information necessary for Covenant Health to comply with tax regulatory requirements. Works within a team framework to accumulate data needed for reporting, to prepare consistent workpapers, and to communicate relevant issues. Adheres to schedules devised to meet filing deadlines. Requires an increased understanding of government regulations including rules, familiarity with law, ability to research laws, rules and regulations. Increased levels of understanding government procedures and protocols, as well as ability to interact with governmental entities on a variety of issues.

Responsibilities

Prepares supporting schedules necessary for regulator filings.

Performs data entry for Intermediate and Senior Accountant, and department Director.

Processes incoming mail including scanning and saving according to departmental protocol, reviewing for due dates and required responses, and distributing to appropriate persons.

Prepares routine and recurring reports including, but not limited to, Corporate Annual Reports, other Secretary of State filing, Powers of Attorney, Certificates of Existence, Sales Tax returns, Property Tax returns and Business Tax reports.

Assists with data collection necessary for workpapers, analyses and filings.

Performs periodic account analyses such as other expenses and income and contract labor.

Coordinates check requests/electronic payments.

Coordinates and assists with obtaining signatures, packaging and mailing regulatory filings.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Business or Finance or Associate Degree with at least four (4) years accounting experience. Knowledge of tax a plus.

Minimum Experience:

Must demonstrate solid communication skills and ability to operate within a team framework. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
