Conducts initial screening of applicantsfor contract, interns and entry level positions to determine whichcandidates meet the entrance requirements and may be referred forinterviews. Contacts internal and external applicants when documentationis missing from the employment application. Performs disciplinary reviewof internal applicants. Handles job postings, referrals, and hiringpackages for interns and contract employees. Serves on interviewcommittees for intern and contract employee positions. Schedulespre-employment physicals, arranges background checks and performsreference checks on finalists. Ensures positions are highlighted andposted on job boards and social media. When necessary, identifiesspecialized job boards to broaden the applicant pool for hard-to-fillpositions. Works closely with the Affirmative Action department toensure MWRA jobs are posted on social media sites and specializedprofessional and trade sites. May participate in job fairs (virtual orin-person). Responds to requests and inquiries relative to employmentfrom internal candidates, managers and applicants. Assists with MWRA\'sSummer Intern program, including but not limited to coordinating theannual intern luncheon and serving as an attendant for the intern fieldtrip program. Attends employee orientations, completes I-9 verificationforms, and scans all hiring documents. Reviews hiring documents toensure they are accurate and complete. Serves as back-up orientationfacilitator in the absence of the Assistant Manager, Employment.SECONDARY DUTIES: Performs related duties as required. MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: A Bachelor\'s degree in humanresources, business administration, public administration or a relatedfield; and General understanding of human resources and hiring practicesand state and federal laws and regulations governing employment asacquired through at least two (2) years of professional experienceincluding at least one year in recruitment, career planning, jobplacement, or human resources; or Any equivalent combination ofeducation or experience.
