Kelly Engineering Outsourcing & Consulting Group (KellyOCG), a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, is currently seeking Systems Verification Project Engineer for a long-term engagement at one of our Global Medical Device Robotics & Digital Solutions clients. A global leader in surgery with products and solutions found in almost every operating room around the world and this location is in Santa Clara, CA.

The Systems Verification Project Engineer will coordinate and manage the scheduling and documentation for pre-verification and verification system testing Surgical Robotics system. The engineer will manage and own projects, as well as support other engineers with testing and test development activities. The individual should have strong communication skills as they will work closely with engineers and managers from all functional teams including R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and external vendors. The engineer will document the test equipment and systems in accordance with FDA design control processes (21 CFR820.30) and IEC 62304. The engineer will also participate part-time or occasionally in recording or performing hands-on testing.
Key Responsibilities:
Compile documentation and release formal reports.
Track defect tickets to closure and run defect ticket meetings.
Manage test article and materials orders to meet test plan needs.
Maintain an up-to-date test schedule daily.
Work closely with manufacturing, software development, R&D, and quality to drive completion of action items, to maintain up-to-date schedules and inventories, and to complete project deliverables on time.
Record test results or perform hands-on testing of a surgical robotic platform in R&D and manufacturing environments (occasional or part-time).
Possible Other Responsibilities:
Publish data analysis reports and dashboards.
Design and develop test protocols, support other engineers in test development.
Design, prototype, qualify, and document test fixtures, equipment, and systems.
Develop software test scripts and data post-processing scripts (primarily in Python).
Work closely with Systems Integration, R&D, and Quality to ensure tests and equipment meets internal customer needs. Communicate plans to technical and non-technical leadership.
Manage or coordinate with other engineers, technicians, and vendors to support test protocol and equipment goals.
Required Qualifications:
Degree requirements (one of these)
B.S. in Engineering or other applicable technical degree
B.S./B.A. degree with project management experience
Available to work variable 8 hours shifts between 7am and 7pm and occasional evenings or weekend days, as needed.
Ability to produce detailed and accurate records and reports.
Ability to prioritize tasks from different engineers/managers, demonstrate good time management skills, and communicate clearly is required.
Ability to take initiative, influence others to complete their action items, and drive multiple small projects to completion.
Experience with hands-on formal testing such as product verification and validation, equipment qualification, process validation, or quality assurance testing
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge across engineering fields (electrical, mechanical, software), with domain expertise in at least one area
Experience developing and executing test method validation and equipment qualification
Experience in test equipment design, prototyping, and qualification is preferred.
Proficiency in technical writing and good documentation practices
Robotics or electro-mechanical experience
Medical device or similar regulated industry (e.g. automotive, aerospace) experience
